Our Book Fair continues until tomorrow, with our evening slot tonight for parents who can’t make it during the day due to work commitments. Thank you to the parents who have made themselves available to assist in running the book fair throughout the week.

The Book Fair closes tomorrow so if you haven’t been down our final session is tomorrow afternoon. (see times below)

MS Readathon: Our 2nd classes continue doing a mini-version of the MS Readathon. Each child will try to read as many books as possible during the month of November. Instead of collecting sponsorship, each child will be asked to donate €2 in aid of MS Ireland.

The Moon & Sixpence Theatre performed Jacqueline and the Beanstalk for all classes today.

Science: Wanted unwanted toys/items for use in Science for infant classes. Size: McDonald’s toy’s size. Required: must be safe, durable, made from plastic, fur, metal, fabric or wood.

The National Ambulance service will visit our pupils on the 25th November. They will demonstrate to the children how to make emergency calls, will show the children some paramedic equipment and an ambulance will also be on site. Sincere thanks to parent Christine Aherne for organising this event. We are very grateful.

Our ABI-anti-bullying talk that was cancelled last month has been rescheduled for the evening of Wednesday the 20th of November. The talk will take place in the school hall from 7pm-8pm. All parents are welcome.

Car park Campaign: Scoil Aine and St. Thomas’ will be promoting a car park campaign beginning next Monday 18th Nov. We ask for all parents to support us in our efforts to keep the school car park a safe and respectful space. Information regarding the campaign, parking procedures and applications for new permits 2020 will be sent home on Monday 18th along with colouring competitions. Homework on Monday will be for children to discuss car park procedures with their parents.

History Visits: Our first and second class children will meet with some local history visitors on the 22nd Nov. They will discuss change and continuity in the local environment of Lucan.

School Closure: School will be closed on Friday 29th November due to local elections as our school campus is used as a polling station also Tuesday 3rd December for teacher in-service training.
