Reminder: Lucan Dyspraxia/DCD Support Group are holding an information evening tonight Thursday March 21st at 7pm in Adamstown Youth & Community Centre on the Move 2 Learn Physical Literacy Programme for primary school children with Dyspraxia / DCD. info@dyspraxia.ie
Intercultural Week takes place from Monday 1st April to Friday 5th April. See attached sheet. Please return information slips to your child’s teacher, if you are available to help with any of the following:
- Class visit as outlined. (no previous experience required ! )
- International Food Night.
- Information /Newsletter translation (we are looking for parents to help with translating the main information in our newsletter into your national language.) We have over 30 nationalities in our school and realise for many English is not a first language.
Parent Information / Tips: In an effort to improve our communication of curriculum and in response to similar requests from parents we are commencing a section on our website under relevant headings for each class level. The initial categories will be Oral Language, English, Irish, Maths, Assessment, Homework and Educational Apps. We will add to it in the coming weeks and hope it is helpful to you.
European Elections: Date for your Diary: Friday May 24th. We have been informed that this is the date for European elections and as the school campus of both schools is used as a polling station we will be closed on that date. (Reminder: It is also the day before First Communion for 2nd Class Parents).
Swimming: We have secured a grant of €1,000 towards swimming lessons and our 2nd classes will be participating after First Communion.
St. Thomas’ PA: Thank you to our PA for their continued support of our school through the enhancement of our facilities. Watch out for new bicycle racks and a Parents/Community noticeboard in the coming weeks.
