Parents Newsletter 16th November 2017

Dear Parents/Guardians,

Parents Association Table Quiz takes place tomorrow night Friday 17th Novemberin the Lord LucanFinnstown at 8.30pm. Top prize will be fabulous individual hampers and there will also be plenty of raffle prizes to be won. Price will be €40 for a table of 4.

Come along tomorrow night Friday 17th for what is always a very enjoyable social night.

Thank you to all the parents and local businesses who sent in grocery items and raffle prizes.!

Our Book Fair continues until tomorrow, with our evening slot tonight for parents who can’t make it during the day due to work commitments. Thank you to the parents who have made themselves available to assist in running the book fair throughout the week.

The Book Fair closes tomorrow so if you haven’t been down our final session is tomorrow afternoon. (see times below)

We have a special treat for all classes tomorrow as ‘ Moon and Sixpence Theatre’will be performing three shows of Little Red Riding Hood for all our pupils.

MS Readathon: Our 2nd classes continue doing a mini-version of the MS Readathon. Each child will try to read as many books as possible during the month of November. Instead of collecting sponsorship, each child will be asked to donate €2 in aid of MS Ireland.

Found: A pink micro scooter left on yard before mid-term break, please call to the office.

First Communion/First Confession:

First Confession: Wednesday March 14th 2018 @ 7pm: St. Patrick’s.

First Communion: Saturday 28th April 2018 : St .Patrick’s (slightly earlier than usual as school is closed from Friday 4th May to Monday 11th May (bank/school holidays).

Ms. O’Loughlin, (R.16) Ms. Maguire (R.18) & Ms. Barnes (R.19) -- 10.00am Mass

Ms. Madigan (R.17) & Ms. Morrison R.20)-(twins in these rooms) - 12.00 pm Mass.

An information meeting for parents on sacramental preparation will be held in early 2018.

Greenschools: First Class took part in Travel Workshops this week. The facilitator was Caterina McNamara from Greenschools. These workshops teach our children about sustainable travel and its benefits to the environment.

New Equipment: Our Parents’ Association have purchased sixteen new, large gymnastics mats for the school, to replace our old stock, at a cost of €1600. Thank you.

Our Christmas Carol service takes place in St. Patrick’s Church Esker at 11.00am on Wednesday 13th December. All parents are welcome.
