Newsletter 13/1/2022

Junior Infant Enrolment 2022: Enrolment for junior infants 2022 remains open until January 28th. Places will be offered during the month of February. Please see our website for details -Admissions 2022 2023.

Vaccinations for Junior Infants: The HSE health nurse advised that vaccinations will go ahead this month. However, due to Covid restrictions they will not happen on the school premises as previously planned. If you have registered for your child to be vaccinated, you should receive a text with details to advise you when/where the vaccinations will take place. Some children have already received their texts.

Carpark: You should have received an email regarding a serious incident in the parish/school carpark this week. Thankfully the child involved (from Scoil Áine) is well and unharmed. A firm reminder to all parents that you are NOT permitted to park, drop off, u turn or use the carpark at any time on the signage displayed unless you have been given a permit by the school. If you have a permit that needs renewal for 2022 please contact the school next week.

SDCC have informed us that there will be no lollipop lady at Esker Drive for the remainder of the week.

Covid Cases: We were informed of 5 Covid cases to date this week. Please continue to monitor your children carefully for symptoms and see the most up to date isolation guide for details. HPSC isolation quick guide. Guidelines update regularly. We are bound by government guidelines at all times.

Punctuality: Please ensure that your children are on time for school. Senior infants and 2nd classes should be in their line by 8:55am. Junior infants and 1st classes should be in line by 9:05. Siblings should arrive at the earlier time. Being repeatedly late means that your child is missing out on valuable learning time. 10 minutes late daily adds up to almost an hour weekly of missed learning time. This is also upsetting for the children if they are regularly late.

Rainbows: bereavement support group began yesterday for a number of our pupils. We are delighted to be in a position to offer this service to our pupils despite the challenges of Covid 19 at the moment. The service is much needed and valued. Thank you to our staff volunteers who give so generously and freely of their time.

Midterm Break: February 21st-25th February 2022

Parent Teacher Meetings will be scheduled for the week before midterm. Class teachers will be in contact nearer to the time.

School Fees reminder: If you have not yet paid school fees for 2021/2022, please do so as soon as possible. You can access payment option via easypayments on the school website. Maureen the secretary can also take card payment at reception. If you are having difficulty paying, please contact the class teacher/principal so that we can support you in making a suitable payment arrangement.
