Junior Infant Enrolment 2022: Enrolment for junior infants 2022 is now open. Please see our website for details: Admissions 2022 2023

Dress up: The Children in 1st/2nd classes can dress up as a book character tomorrow- Friday 12th November (if they wish). This is to help celebrate World Book Day. There is no monetary collection for this.

Reading Challenges. All pupils were asked to increase their reading during the week and the month of November in general. Some prizes will be presented by Ms. Walshe this Friday. Well done to all of the boys and girls who really tried hard engaging with books this week. Due to Covid protocols, the book fair unfortunately cannot go ahead as normal again this year. However, details for ordering books from the book club were sent home on seesaw during the week.

Lots of Fun: Our pupils had several treats during the last two weeks. They all thoroughly enjoyed their visits to Lucan Library and behaved so well. They were a credit to St. Thomas’ school. We would like to thank Lucan Library for being so kind and patient with our pupils and would encourage parents to join Lucan Library if you haven’t already done so. It is a fantastic local resource and a wonderful way to allow your children increase their exposure to books without charge. There was also loud laughter to be heard throughout the school with the children enjoying the hilarious stories and antics of Niall De Burca. Niall is a regular annual visitor to our school and is always so well received by staff and pupils alike.

Feel the Forces: Free event in Lucan Library on Saturday November 13th which may be of interest to some parents of pupils with ASD in particular. There are still some places available Feel the Forces!

Covid cases: We had one reported Covid case this week. We continue to ask parents to remain vigilant to the symptoms of Covid and to arrange a test for your child if they present with symptoms.

Colder weather: A reminder to parents to make sure that your children are well wrapped up in winter coats, hats and scarves as the weather is becoming increasingly colder. There is increased ventilation also in the classrooms because of Covid protocols so extra layers for your children would be wise.

Have a wonderful weekend.
