Biodiversity or biological diversity is the variety of all life forms on earth: plants, animals, insects, fish, all sizes, types and species - all over the planet.

Biodiversity is central to our lives and in our programme we learn how to conserve and protect it.

Biodiversity provides us with all commodities necessary for our lives - food, medicine, clothing, fuel, building materials as well as providing wonderful amenities for us to enjoy, such as beaches, parks, mountains and lakes.

Evidence of threats to biodiversity is already apparent in climate change and global warming. Other threats are littering, pollution, habitat loss due to overdevelopment, intensive farming and exploitation of resources e.g. rainforests and water.

School closes on Friday 29th June for our summer break. Junior & Senior Infants to be collected at 11.50am. 1st & 2nd classes at 12 noon. We wish all families a happy and safe holiday! SCHOOL RE- OPENS ON THURSDAY 30th AUGUST.

We currently have 12 sets of twins in our school and captured it today. We made history in St.Thomas' J.N.S!

The annual Seamus Morris Football Blitz took place on Tuesday the 26th of June. The children had a great afternoon playing football. Carlow defeated Wexford in the final. Well done to all the boys and girls involved.

Ms.Barnes' 2nd Class were very busy today reading stories to the Junior Infant children from Ms. Murray's class.
