Parents Newsletter

Friday 18th  of September 2020.
18-September-20

Dear parents/guardians,

Hope you are all safe and well .

Well done : To all our Junior Infants who are now on full school days and doing very well!

Pupil Insurance: Information leaflets and application forms to join this excellent and affordable scheme will go out next week. It provides 24 hour cover for pupils for 365 days of the year.

Wet Mornings: Please bring your child to the Front Side doors ( unless your child is in the prefabs (Rooms 9-12).

Standing Back: Now that our class lines are working well I am asking all parents to stand back behind the yellow line in the morning once they bring their children to the line and spot their child’s teacher, Ms. Murray and I at the head of the line. It encourages independence, assists health and safety and speeds up traffic flow.

Learning Support: If your child has been identified as benefiting from additional learning support you will have received a consent letter home by this stage. Please sign and return asap and if you have any queries re same please email Ms. Murray (l.murray@stthomasjns.com)

Contact forms: If you have not already returned your updated contact details sheet to your child’s teacher please do so by next Monday.

Room 20: (Ms.Sullivan) We were notified on Wednesday of a positive test for a child in the class. All the class are currently self-quarantining along with the affected staff. Blended learning will take place while the class are out of school. The pupils and staff affected will all be tested twice before returning to school on Monday28th of September. The HSE no longer issue guidance letters for the whole school community

This may occur with your child’s class at a future point in the year, so it is good to know about the protocols in place. Please follow the HSE guidelines and it will help to keep us all safe and keep our school open.

Please continue to wear facemasks on the school grounds , arrive at your appointed class time and do not delay on the yard.

Thanks for your co-operation,

Yours sincerely,

Michael Maher,

Principal.
