Dear Parents/Guardians,

First Holy Communion (2nd class): Reminder to Parents / Guardians of children receiving the Sacraments of First Holy Confession and First Holy Communion, that there is an important meeting tonight at 7pm in St. Patrick’s Church Esker.

Pupil Insurance: This scheme has had a large take-up from parents and is now closed.

Thanks to the Parents’ Association for organising the registration of pupils in this scheme.

Grandparents Day (2nd Classes): Well done to the huge number of grandparents who turned up yesterday Wednesday for our Annual Grandparents Day. ! Their wisdom and experience was shared among all our 2nd classes who were fascinated by tales of school long ago and in turn were able to show what 2nd class learning is like in 2018.

A big thank you to the staff of the school and members of our Parents Association who helped out on the day, serving tea and cleaning up afterwards. Also thank you to Karen Coghlan for supplying all the lovely buns.

Green Schools Travel: Walk on Wednesday starts this week (W.O.W.) walk a mile with a smile! Our travel theme has been running for seven years and we encourage our pupils to engage in sustainable travel practices by walking to school.

We will also be doing a Spooky WOW (Walk Once a Week) morning with children dressing in Halloween costumes on Thursday October 25th.

Junior Infants received consent forms yesterday for 4 in 1 Vaccination, also Vision & Hearing tests from the HSE. Please sign these and return to class teacher by Wednesday 10th October.

Senior Infants: Gaelic football coaching continues on Tuesdays, with David Moran, up to the mid-term break.

First Classes: All our First Classes are visiting Griffeen Park today to meet the Park Ranger, Gerry Spain, and learn about the flora and fauna in the park.

Second Classes: Tag rugby coaching with Rob Mullen (IRFU) is coming for a six week block after the mid-term break.

School Closures: School will be closed on Friday 26th October due to the Presidential Election as our school campus is used as a voting station.

Our Mid-Term Break takes place from Monday 29th October to Friday 2nd Novemberinclusive. School reopens on Monday 5th November.
