School Reports: Please ensure we have the correct address for all pupils as school reports, book bills and school closures for next year, will be posted home tomorrow Friday 15th June.

New Junior Infants (Sept 2018) Familiarisation week (Mon. 11th –Thurs. 14th June)

If you missed your day this week to meet your child’s teacher please contact the office as soon as possible. Today 14th June (R.4 – Ms. Madigan & R.5- Ms. Christian will meet their pupils today)

Camp Esker 2018: Due to the high level of demand, applications for this year’s camp are now closed.

Annual Helpers Night: This will take place on Wednesday 27th June @ 7.30pm

All parents who 1) helped out during the year, along with: 2) all members of our hard working Parents Association, are invited to attend for what promises to be an enjoyable social occasion.

If you did not receive an individual invitation but fall under either 1) or 2) above please come along for what promises to be an enjoyable evening.

Building Project : Our architects (NMA ) will be doing a site visit to the school next week to make provision for remedial works to our existing school building, in advance of meeting the Dept. to agree revised costs for our building project. Once this process is completed we hope to proceed to tender stage as soon as possible.

Best of Luck: To two of our teachers, Ms. Barnes and Ms.O’Doherty who are heading away on world travels next year. Also, best of luck to Breda Holmes who will be leaving St. Thomas’ to take over as principal of Scoil Bhride in Leixlip next September. Breda has worked in Archbishop’s House on secondment as Diocesan Adviser for the last five years, and before that was teacher and part of the in-school management team (assistant principal) , with particular responsibility for Maths and Religion. We would like to acknowledge Breda’s contribution to the development of our school and wish her all the best in her new position.

Sponsored Walk: This takes place on Sunday 17th June. Meeting at Griffeen Park Leisure Centre @2pm and walking back to the school for tea/coffee refreshments and entertainment for the children afterwards (including music and magician). Sponsor Cards went home on Monday. Proceeds of this year’s walk will go towards school resources and classroom equipment.

Children are asked notto go door to door just ask for sponsorship within their own family members.

Child Protection/Safeguarding : Under new legislation all staff members working in schools will have to undergo compulsory training and certification (Term 2 and Term 3 ) over two half days. The second of these will take place tomorrow Friday 15th June. School will close @12pm with Infant classes off @11.50am.
