24-May-18

New Junior Infants (Sept. ’18). Our meeting for parents of Junior Infants starting in September ’18 took place last night Wednesday 23rd May. We had an excellent attendance as usual. If you were unable to attend please call to the school office to collect an information pack and the format of our familiarisation week as you will need to know which day of the week you have to bring your child in. (Mon 11th to Thurs. 14th June)

Table Quiz: Scoil Aine Naofa Parents Association are holding a table quiz and a big raffle tomorrow night in the Lord Lucan at 8pm. Cost is €40 per table of 4. The fundraising efforts are jointly in support of the school, and the family of Zack Foley, a former pupil of both schools, who is ill. Please support the night and the raffle tickets on sale at the school.

Children Moving: If there are any families moving during our summer break please inform the class teacher or school office as soon as possible, if you have not already done so, as we have waiting lists for all classes. Also please let us know if you have changed address recently as we will be sending home school reports and book lists in the coming weeks. As this is a busy term with testing, tours, sports day and school reports please inform your child’s teacher in advance if your child is going to be absent for any particular day/week.

Green Schools: Congratulations to the Green Schools team on the award of our 6th green flag for Global Citizenship on Tuesday 22nd at a schools ceremony in the Helix. Our school was ably represented by our Green Schools Co-ordinator Grainne Power, Eimear Hölzle (Green Schools Committee), and two of our pupils Grace Carson & Sean Curtis (2nd) who are Green Schools Reps in the school. Well done!

Warm Weather: As the weather gets warmer please ensure your child is ‘sun screened’ appropriately on coming to school.

Health and Safety: Entry and exit. Thank you to all parents for co- operating in the morning and afternoon by standing back at the back of the class line (behind yellow line and outside cones). We have almost six hundred children entering and leaving the building and their safety is paramount.

Well done! To our 2nd class First Communicants who donated from their communion gifts a total of €502.83 to Enable Ireland. Fantastic and very generous effort!

School Closure:

TomorrowFriday 25th May: Polling Day.(Referendum on the Eight Amendment).
