Pupil Personal Accident Insurance: Forms for this scheme went home last week.

If you wish to avail of this scheme please return the form and money to class teacher before tomorrow Friday 20th September (final date). I would encourage every parent to avail of our Pupil Personal Accident Insurance Scheme (Allianz)

Thank you to Peter Giles who donated a number of computer monitors to our school allowing us to upgrade monitors in eight of our classrooms. Also thank you to Eithne Dorgan for all her hard work and creativity in making our school garden a beautiful space for all. We love the new additions.

Another thank you to our outgoing P.A. who have worked tirelessly for the benefit of our school and the pupils. We really appreciate all your efforts.

St. Thomas’ J.N.S. Parents Association A.G.M took place last night Wednesday 18th September.

Congratulations to our new Chairperson Maria Casey. A full list of our officers will appear next week.

The first meeting of our new Parent’s Committee will take place shortly. Date for next meeting to follow. All parents are welcome to join and get involved.!

Greenschools Programme: We are currently working for our 7th Green Flag Award. Please support our sustainable aims by having Zero Waste in lunch boxes, re-usable bottles, no tinfoil or plastic. Our Green Reps. will shortly begin weekly W.O.W. counts for our Walk On Wednesday Campaign

School Secretary Protest: Our school secretaries will protest tomorrow morning at the school gate for one hour, for equal rights regarding pay and conditions. School secretaries are paid by a grant from the Board of Management and not the Department of Education as with some schools. This means all school secretaries are on a different pay scale and have no service or pension rights.

Car park/Clamping: Please be advised that clamping is in operation (APCOA) in the school/parish car park and cars that do not hold permits will be clamped. Please also respect the disabled parking spaces and do not obstruct the spaces to either side. There are a number of people with permits for these spaces and your co-operation and respect is kindly requested.

Yours Sincerely
