Parents’ Newsletter

Friday March 27th 2020

Dear parents/guardians,

I hope you are all safe and well. We have been meeting as a staff this week (using ZOOM ) to plan for the time ahead and support you at home. As we go through the next few weeks we have put up a more detailed work schedule from today, which will continue for the next four school weeks, and will bring us as far as May 3rd(if required).

You will find the weekly work schedule for your child with your teacher’s email address under CLASS NEWS on the school website. If you have a query or concern about any aspect of the work please email your teacher and they will respond within 24 hours.

If you can assist your child to complete the work, my advice is to have a daily routine at the same time each day to sit down with your child and go through the work. I appreciate that some of you may have more pressing concerns , and if your child is unable to complete all of the work that is also fine, and we will make up the ground when they are back with us.

For pupils in First and Second Class, a workpack (including textbooks)for your child will be available for collection from your child’s classroom on Monday 30th between 10 am and 1pm . Each individual bundle with your child’s name on it will be at your child’s table. If your child is receiving additional support for learning in the school (SET, EAL) the support teacher’s work will also be included. I am requesting that one adult only come and collect the work pack. and observe social distancing while here.

If you are unable to come on Monday the school will also be open on Friday 3rd of April between 10 and 1 pm.

Thanks to our Parents’ Association for organising the ‘Panes for Paddy’s Day’ art competition and for all the wonderful entries you put up on your windows.

It has been another long week but we have got through it. Keep going, stay at home and stay active. If you have any photos of ‘home school’ that you would like to share please email to the school or to the parents’ Facebook page, and we will put them up for all to enjoy!

Keep safe and well,

Yours sincerely,

Michael Maher.
