Dear Parents/Guardians,

St. Thomas’ Parents Association is holding a talk on Effective Parenting (a simple guide for a happy home) on Wednesday 4th March 2020 at 8pm in the Senior Hall.

The speaker is Patricia Fitzpatrick (Psychologist and author of ‘Effective Parenting’)

Quiz Night: Our 1st Annual St. Thomas’JNS & Scoil Áine Naofa takes place in the Lord Lucan Friday 27th March at 8pm sharp. €40 per table of 4/raffle/spot prizes and live music. All proceeds will be divided between both schools. If you are a member of the local business community and would like to donate a voucher/gift towards the annual raffle please do so through the school office. Thanks to all the school suppliers who have already donated prizes and will, be acknowledged on our website. Come along for what promises to be a great night!

Coicís na Gaeilge:

Dia dhaoibh! As usual we have a number of activities taking place in the school during (2nd-13th, March). Two classes will visit our neighbouring Gaelscoil. (Eiscir Riada) on Thursday 12th March. During the next two weeks we will be focusing on promoting the use of spoken Irish, and on Irish music and culture, and we encourage you to use “cúpla focail” (a few Irish words) at home as well. We will also focus on extending the use of Irish in teaching PE and through the Aistear programme. We will have lots of prizes for children ‘caught’ speaking Irish during the week.

Irish Dancing: Currently all our classes are receiving lessons in Irish dancing from Rita Doyle.

This continues until the 13th March in the run up to Coicís na Gaeilge.

Shamrock Parade / ‘Lá Dathanna’ (Colours Day : As Coicís na Gaeilge draws to a close our final event will be our WOW Morning on Friday 13th March where we can wear our Irish colours along with the colours of our nationality. More information next week.

School Art Competition winners: Emma Peroni, Aniketh Gaddammedhi, Pippa Kelly, Zara O’Kearney Gregorio, Lauren Bryne, Lucy Silke, Leana Urbanowicz, Evute Mencinskaite and Jorja Gelling. Well done to all!
