Seachtain na Gaeilge: Dia dhaoibh! As usual we have a number of activities taking place in the school during Seachtain na Gaeilge (12th -16th, March). Two of our classes visited our neighbouring Gaelscoil. (Eiscir Riada) on Monday 12th March. Currently all our classes are receiving lessons in Irish dancing from Rita Doyle.

During the week we focused on promoting the use of spoken Irish, and on Irish music and culture, and we encourage you to use “cúpla focail” (a few Irish words) at home as well. Today we have class concerts in the Junior and Senior Hall where the children perform ‘as Gaeilge’ for each other. We have lots of prizes for children ‘caught’ speaking Irish during the week.

Parents’ Association : Our next meeting takes place next Wed. 21st March @8pm.

All parents are very welcome to come along and find out about the activities of the association. We are also looking for volunteers (particularly First Class parents) to help out with the Communion Breakfast and get a flavour of what is ahead next year.

Green Schools Travel:Don’t forget our “Shamrock Parade” WOW (Walk once a week) event. Tomorrow morning Friday 16th March “Make your Snake” and walk a mile with a smile in your St. Patrick’s Day colours. More details on our website & parents association school facebook page. We are encouraging everyone to wear our national colours on the day!

Trocaire Boxes: Please return after the Easter Holidays.

School Trip : Our 2nd classes will visit St. Patrick’s Cathedral on Tuesday 20th and Thursday 22nd March for a guided tour and stained glass workshop.

School Closures 2018/2019 : Our holidays / closures for next year are now on the website.

Lego: If your children have outgrown any lego kits/sets we would be happy to take them off your hands as they will augment what we already have in construction sets for our classrooms here. Please drop in to the school office.
