Special Visitor: The pupils from our school will have a Special Visitor tomorrow Friday the 15th of December. Thanks to the Parents Association for organising this day.

Photos / Videos: A reminder to parents that if you are recording your child’s nativity play/ carol service / school event please do not upload to social media as it compromises the privacy rights of others.

School Website : Our brand new school website has group shots only of all our Christmas activities in line with our AUP (Acceptable Use Policy ) re photographs and children’s work. Our newsletter is also there along with lots of new links and helpful information so please log on!(stthomasjns.com).

Our St. Thomas’ Phone App will be coming next year with news /information access and instant alert facility and we will be phasing out the paper newsletter .

Christmas Jumper / Santa Hat Day for MND: On Friday 22nd December (last school day) we are asking pupils/ staff /parents to wear a Christmas Jumper/ Santa Hat / Reindeer Antlers etc and bring in €3 for the Irish Motor Neuron Disease Association. This initiative has been set up by John O’Donoghue, a native of Co. Kerry (cf. reindeerrunformnd) who has MND, and is being supported by a number of schools and organisations in Kerry, Clare, Galway and Dublin. All funds raised go towards research into this crippling and fatal condition. Your support is much appreciated and all children who participate will receive a raffle ticket for a giant Christmas raffle on the day with lots of prizes donated by our parents.

Send in used stamps to school. We pass them on to I.P.C.C. (Irish Peatland Conservation Council.)

St. Thomas’ P.A.: Thank you to the PA for their hard work throughout the year. In recent weeks we have purchased 16 new gym mats (€1600) and replaced 6 old computers (€2400) with funds raised by them !

Formal Registration of Junior Infants for September 2018 will take place in the school on Monday 29th, Tuesday 30th, and Wednesday 31st January 2018 from 10.00am to 12.o’clock. Copies of your child’s birth & baptismal (only if baptised) certificates along with the child’s P.P.S. No. and a house utility bill will be required on the day of enrolment. Enrolment to the school is subject to the school’s enrolment policy, which is available to peruse in the school office.

Christmas Gifts: We acknowledge the pressure on parents regarding gifts, in our school booklet each year, and I am reminding you now that saying thank you to staff is a sufficient gift to give to any of us, and is much appreciated by all of us.

Christmas Closing Times: Christmas Holidays begin on Friday 22nd December.
