Dear Parent/ Guardian,

As we are approaching the end of the fifth week of remote learning, I want to thank you for all you are doing to support your child’s learning. I understand that it is not easy. I also want to pay tribute to all the staff in our school who are working very hard to continue the delivery of high quality teaching and learning. The education of your child is foremost in our minds and we continue to do our best to ensure the highest quality education possible for your child. I know that we are all eager to back to school and hopefully before long we will be opening our doors. In the meantime, I hope everybody had some spraoi in the sneachta!

Parent Teacher Meetings

Teachers are currently holding parent-teacher meetings. Where two parents wish to speak with a class teacher at separate times due to family circumstances, just let us know and we will facilitate this. Thank you for all the wonderful feedback that we are getting. It is heartening for us to hear and know that so many of you are very happy with the education we provide.

Remote Learning

Class teachers will shortly be in contact with parents regarding holding whole class Microsoft Teams live sessions weekly. We are further amending our school policies and procedures to facilitate this, especially Child Protection, given our pupils are so young. No recording, photo or video is authorised nor sharing of pre-recorded videos. A survey will issue shortly to allow all members of the school community feed into the further development of our Remote Learning plan. We welcome all feedback which will feed into our review of our school policy on Remote Learning.

Mid Term Break

A reminder that our Mid Term Break is from Thursday 18th to Friday 19th February inclusive as per our school calendar issued at the beginning of the year. Children are not expected to engage in remote learning on those two days. I hope you can take a well-deserved break!

Stay safe, and remember – Níl tuile dá mhéid nach dtránn (even the heaviest flood recedes)

Best wishes,

Teresa Moynihan
