Dear Parents/ Guardians,

I hope you and your family are keeping well as we reach the end of week 3 of remote learning. All education stakeholders are currently engaging with the Department of Education in working towards a safe and practical return to school to facilitate face to face teaching and learning for pupils. At present, we do not know when we will reopen for face to face teaching, however, we will keep you informed of any developments.

If there are school books for you to collect, they are available at reception. They can be collected when the school office is open. The office is open Monday, Wednesday and Friday 9am to 11.30am. If you have queries for Maureen our secretary, please phone during those times. Alternatively, please email info@stthomasjns.com which is monitored daily.

Enrolment

Please be aware that the closing date for enrolment for Junior Infants is tomorrow, 29th Jan 2021. Applications will be notified of the decision on their application by 12th February. Applicants must confirm acceptance of an offer by February 26th. If you have any queries, please contact the school office. For further information, please click here.

Scoil Áine Naofa 3rd Class Enrolment

Applications for enrolment can be made via Scoil Áine’s school website, www.scoilaine.com under enrolments. This facility will be live on the website from Monday 1st February until Friday 26th February. Successful applicants will receive an email from the school on/before Friday March 12th offering a place for September 2021.

Parent Teacher Meetings

Parent Teacher Meetings are currently scheduled to be held from Monday 8th Feb to Wednesday 17th February. Because of Covid-19, this year our parent teacher meetings will take place over the phone rather than face to face. Class teachers will be in contact with parents in due course to arrange times.

Mid Term Break

Our Mid Term Break is from Thursday 18th to Friday 19th February inclusive as per our school calendar issued at the beginning of the year. Children are not expected to engage in remote learning on those two days.

If you have any queries or questions please do not hesitate to contact me or the class teacher.

Best wishes and keep safe,

Teresa Moynihan
