Dear Parents/Guardians,

Trocaire Boxes: Please return Trocaire Boxes by tomorrow.

Benefit Night: A benefit night will be held in Courtney’s Lucan Village tomorrow night Friday 3rd May in aid of the Foley Family. Your support is greatly appreciated.

Viking History Talk: David Swift (Heritage in Schools Council) is doing 5 half day workshops with our Second Classes this week on our Viking Heritage. David’s interactive sessions include a large collection of replica artefacts from the Viking Age.

Gaelic Coaching: Our Junior Infants have started Gaelic Football Coaching for the next 5 weeks with David Moran a coach with Lucan Sarsfield G.A.A.

First Class Parents: Our First Communion ceremony takes place on Saturday 25th of May.

Our Parents’ Association are seeking assistance from some of our First Class parents to help out in the hall after each ceremony as we host a reception for the Communicants and their families. It will also give you a good insight into the format of the day for next year. If you are available to help out on the day or for part thereof please give your name and contact number to your child’s teacher and we will pass on to our PA.

Science Day – First Classes: This will take place on Monday the 13th of May and has been organised by one of our parents Erica Hendrick (Alex – R.15) through sponsorship of Merck. All our first class pupils will be suited up as young scientists and get a chance to conduct 4 simple science experiments in the hall on the day. Erica will be assisted by another parent Lydia Lynch (Layla – R.20), Professor and Lead Scientist at Trinity College Dublin.

Children Moving: If there are any families moving during our summer break please inform the class teacher or school office as soon as possible, if you have not already done so, as we have waiting lists for all classes. Also please let us know if you have changed address recently as we will be sending home school reports and book lists in the coming weeks. School fees payable by 21st of June.

As this is a busy term with testing, tours, sports day and school reports please inform your child’s teacher in advance if your child is going to be absent for any particular day/week.

Developmental Co-ordination Disorder (DCD) DyspraxiaCommunity Support.

“Play to Move” 4 weeks programme (Sports & Athletics) To register for a place contact Harry in the Dyspraxia Association of Ireland. Local Support group for parents of children with Dyspraxia meet in Adamstown Community Centre on the 3rd Thursday of each month.

Lost Property: There is a large amount of lost property in our box outside the office (coats, hats, gloves and jumpers).Anything not claimed by Tuesday 7th May will be sent to the charity shop.

Lucan Community Games: Athletics Trials will take place at the running track on the Newcastle

Road at 6pm Tuesday 7th May, cost €4. All children must be under 16 as at 31st July and live in Lucan. Email: Lucangames @ gmail.com

School Closures: School is closed next Monday 6th May Bank Holiday also Friday 24th May for European and local elections as the school campus of both schools is used as a polling station.
