MS Readathon: A big thank you to all the 2nd classes who raised €185 in aid of MS Ireland.

Greenschools Reminder: Please ensure your child has a Waste free Lunchbox. Tinfoil/clingfilm are not permitted, please use kitchen paper instead.

Food Waste: Handy hint, keep a box in your fridge labelled “eat me first” place your already opened chilled items in it eg ham/cheese pate etc to ensure not more than one pack is opened.

Recycling Stamps from Christmas: Please send in your used stamps from Christmas Cards.

They will be donated to the Irish Peatlands Conservation Council, whose work involves protection of the bogs to combat climate change.

St. Thomas’ Parents’ Association: Last meeting of the year will take place tonight Thursday 7th December @ 8p.m. in the staffroom.

Christmas night out for our Parents’ Association takes place in the Penny Hill on Saturday 9th December @8pm. All welcome to both events.!

Special Visitor: The pupils from our school will have a Special Visitor on Friday the 15th of December. Thanks to the Parents Association for organising this day.

Nativity Plays/Christmas Concerts: Your child’s class teacher will let you know when/if your child’s class are putting on a show!

Our Christmas Carol service takes place in St. Patrick’s Church Esker at 11.10 am next Wednesday 13th December. All parents are welcome.

Christmas Jumper / Santa Hat Day for MND: On Friday 22nd December (last school day) we are asking pupils/staff/parents to wear a Christmas Jumper/Santa Hat/Reindeer Antlers etc and bring in €3 for the Irish Motor Neuron Disease Association. This initiative has been set up by John O’Donoghue, a native of Co. Kerry (cf. reindeerrunformnd) who has MND, and is being supported by a number of schools and organisations in Clare, Galway and Dublin. All funds raised go towards research into this crippling and fatal condition. Your support is much appreciated.

Formal Registration of Junior Infants for September 2018 will take place in the school on Monday 29th, Tuesday 30th, and Wednesday 31stJanuary 2018 from 10.00am to 12.o’clock. Copies of your child’s birth & baptismal (only if baptised) certificates along with the child’s P.P.S. No. and a house utility bill will be required on the day of enrolment. Enrolment to the school is subject to the school’s enrolment policy, which is available to peruse in the school office.

Our new School Website goes live this weekend. Thanks to Ms. Foley and the ICT team for all their hard work in getting it ready. We hope it will be a lot more user friendly and easy to update.

We currently have 12 sets of twins in our school and captured it today. We made history in St.Thomas' J.N.S!

The annual Seamus Morris Football Blitz took place on Tuesday the 26th of June. The children had a great afternoon playing football. Carlow defeated Wexford in the final. Well done to all the boys and girls involved.
