Dear Parents/Guardians,

Launch of Bike Racks and Shelters We were delighted to have South Dublin County Council Mayor Cllr Emma Murphy officially mark the installation of our 30 space toast bike rack and shelter as part of the Safe routes to School programme. It's great to see so many pupils’ cycle or scoot to from school and even some our staff! As a school, we are proud to take a proactive approach to promoting active travel among our school community and look forward to more members of our school community cycling, scooting or walking to school.

Clothing Collection We are organising a clothes collection fundraiser over the next three weeks. We would welcome all kinds of unneeded clothes (clean and wearable), shoes (in pairs), hats, scarves, bags, belts, bed linen, towels and curtains. Please note that pillows and duvets cannot be re-used. You can drop bags of clothing at any time during school hours to reception. If you are doing a spring clean of your wardrobes, we would be delighted to take any unwanted clothing off your hands. Please place the clothes you are donating into plastic bags. All money raised will go towards buying resources for the pupils of St. Thomas’ JNS. Many thanks for your support.

Admissions 2023/2024 Junior Infant enrolment for 2023/2024 will open on Monday the 7th November 2022.

PA Tea and Coffee Morning It was fantastic to meet many parents this morning and have the opportunity to chat over a cup of tea. Thank you to Chairperson Elaine Moylan and all members of the PA committee for organising such a welcoming and uplifting event. Thank you to Costa for supplying materials. The PA AGM will take place on Wednesday 5th October at 8pm. Looking forward to seeing many of you there.

School Warden Due to unforeseen circumstances, there will be no school warden at the Old Esker Lane tomorrow.

Rental Accommodation We are currently looking for options for a member of our school community. If anyone thinks they can help, please contact the office at info@stthomasjns.com.

Hall Rental: We are renting our halls to organisations who may wish to use them. If any group wishes to avail of our halls after school or at weekends, please email Caroline at carolinecarabini@yahoo.co.uk.

Yours sincerely,

Teresa Moynihan
