It’s beginning to look a lot like Christmas.

Let’s spread some Festive Cheer!!!!!!

Ho Ho Ho!

This month we are using a kindness calendar.16 days of Christmas kindness. Each day we ask staff and pupils to try follow the advice outlined in the kindness calendar. Share a smile, use marvellous manners, help tidy at home etc. Thanks to Ms. Nolan who leads this initiative each year.

Panto week: Each class will watch an online Christmas panto during the week of the 13th-17th December. Thanks to Ms. Walshe for organising this for our pupils who deserve every bit of joy we can afford to them.

A special visitor -Ho Ho Ho will visit the school on Dec. 17th and the classes will zoom in to have a fun Christmas experience with the special visitor. Sincere thanks again to our PA who are organising this and the gifts to go along with the occasion.

Christmas Jumper Days: The children can wear a Christmas jumper/attire if they wish to do so, on the 17th and 22nd December.

Thank you to our Parents: The PA have had an overwhelming response to their request for Christmas decoration donations. They decorated the school this morning and it looks nothing short of spectacular. Thank you all sincerely for your generosity and to the PA for their time spent brightening up the corridors of St. Thomas’. There will be bright eyed wonderment from all our young pupils as they pass the tree, crib, tinsel, lights and Santa’s rocking chair.

Children’s Christmas Cards: Orders are now closed. Thank you to all our parents who supported this fundraising initiative. There was a great response.

Christmas Holidays: The school will close for Christmas break on 22nd Dec. at 11:50/12pm. Details re collection points to follow nearer the date

Tracy, Liz and Elaine were so busy decorating today. Thank you so much ladies!!

New antigen testing programme: The antigen testing for schools programme came into place on Monday 29th November. Parents of pupils in PODs where a positive case of Covid 19 was identified, were notified that they were eligible to avail of the programme. Additionally, if there were more than 2 cases within 7 days within two different PODs in a class, parents of all pupils in the class were eligible to avail of the antigen testing programme and were notified of same. Children in an affected POD and who are undergoing antigen testing can continue attending school once the tests are negative and once they are symptom free. If a child tests positive or has symptoms a PCR must be arranged by parents.
