Dear Parents/Guardians,
A warm welcome back to all our pupils, parents and staff. Fáilte ar ais ar scoil do gach duine. I hope that you all had a wonderful summer break and it is great to see all of the new and familiar faces back at St. Thomas’ JNS.
Junior Infants have been settling in extremely well this week. Thank you to all our parents who are assisting us in making our Junior Infants settle in really well this week. Thank you for standing behind the yellow lines. This minimises congestion and allows the children to safely walk into class.
Junior infant times for the coming weeks: Junior infants times will continue to be staggered.
Week 1 (31st – 2nd Sept): 9.20am – 11.30am.
Week 2 (5th-9th Sept.): 9:00am and will finish at 12pm.
Week 3 and onwards: begin as normal 9am-1:40pm.
Emails From time to time we will email you. Please check you spam folder if you feel you are not receiving our emails. If our email arrives in your spam folder, please change your email settings to identify our email address as not spam. We ask you to check our newsletter which is on our website each Thursday.
Lucan Shopping Centre We have been asked to inform you that on Mon 5th Sept a six-week program will commence to resurface the upper shopping centre car park. During this time there will be various traffic management systems in operation as work progress on different areas of the car park. We have been asked that parents are notified to make a time allowance when leaving for school as there are many that use the centre car park for this purpose. Any queries on this are to contact Lucan Shopping Centre.
Cycle Parking – We are delighted to have Green Schools cycle parking installed in our school over the summer. We look forward to our pupils and staff cycling to school and making use of our recently installed cycling racks. Bikes/ scooters are left at owner's own risk. If you can lock them, we advise you to do so.
Junior Infant photographs-Tuesday September 27th. The children will wear their full school uniform on the day. If you require a photo with a sibling who is a pupil in St. Thomas’, please inform your child’s class teacher via email in advance. One parent/guardian may attend on the day to ensure the children are well presented for their photos as the teachers and photographers cannot tidy hair etc. due to child protection. A timetable will follow in due course.
P.E./Tracksuit days: Your child’s class teacher will be in contact with you in due course to advise on P.E./tracksuit days. The initial P.E. days/times may change and as we work through our support teachers timetables and slight changes may need to be made.
