Senior Infants - Work for School Closure

26-March-20

Dear Parents/Guardians,

We hope that your families are keeping well. As the school is currently closed, we have prepared suggested activities to assist you with your child’s learning and to continue their positive engagement with learning remotely. Below are weekly learning boards to guide your children’s learning. We also compiled a ‘Masterplan Document’ which has a range of activities, websites and apps that can further assist you in your child’s learning and development. Please remember there is no expectation to cover all or even any of the activities. A lot of work is self-directed and your child should enjoy engaging with it but some of it may need adult support depending on your child's ability. We are mindful that this is a worrying time for our community and we hope that through this medium we can offer enjoyment and some structure to your day. Remember mental health and well-being are central to your child’s development. Encourage learning through playful means where possible. There are a few ideas below and if you run out of them there are lots of other ideas on our Masterplan Document that can support your child’s physical and emotional development. We also advise all children to use this time to actively play outdoors while following the guidelines of social distancing. Finally, our advice for parents is to spend this time together; Talk, read, cuddle, make a time capsule, do a puzzle, build a fort in the living room and camp out. Look at photos of when you were a child. Though this is a scary time, it could be a time they remember as the best time in their life too.

If you have any queries or concerns all teachers will be online Monday through Friday from 10.00 and 12.00.
