A great start to first class! Room 15

It has been a really busy and fun first term in 1st class for Room 15. The children have worked so hard over the past few weeks.

We have begun learning the tin whistle and children are playing their tunes really well now! We have also learnt all about healthy eating and our bodies in SESE lessons. Just like last year, the boys and girls are enjoying phonics searching and reading activities through songs which they sing so well. Children are now becoming confident in singing solo too, which is lovely. We have looked at a number of artists' work over the term and children have tried pointillism, life drawing, painting and have created beautiful masks. Children are continuing to enjoying active learning in maths and each week we use games and tablets to support the introduction of new concepts.

Most importantly the children continue to build on their friendships within the class and treat each other so well. We have had lots of deserving winners of our 'Random Act of Kindness' badge and I'm sure this will continue throughout the year.

We also had a visit from the Sam Maguire cup this week which was really exciting for all the children!

Well done to all the children in Room 15 for a great start to the year!!
